The Story[edit | edit source]
Born into the Kanien'kehá:ka Valley, I was 5 when the Valley was burned almost to ashes. Kanen'tó:kon said if I wanted to play into the forest with others, I refused. I was reluctant to not go because I didn't want anything to happen in my absence.
Later that day I heard men walk from the forest as well as I see them with muskets. I ran out of the village very quickly as I turn back and see the village caught up in fire. I have never seen anything that caught on fire that fast. I heard the scream of children and others crying as the fire lights the village like a fire place. I remember when I tripped and fell and when unconscious.
Then a spirit has visited me when I was out, she had very long hair with black hair and very beautiful I must add. "I have one task for you Danien'káito and it will leave you down a dangerous path," the spirit said to me. "How do you know my name? Are you a spirit?" I ask with very strange quiver in my voice. "You can say I am a spirit in your cultural ways, yet my name is Juno." "Juno? That is a nice name." "Thank you little one, I need you to seek a symbol.
