The Carolingian Shield was a light shield utilized by Norse berserkrs in the 9th century.
During the Viking expansion into England, the shield was made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relived her memories.[1]
