Altaïr and Ezio are already done and gone. Connor will likely be as well soon. I don't see why that's an argument for why Desmond should be the protagonist in all forthcoming games.

And don't start any petty arguments like this. They are unnecessary and don't exactly bring any more positive energy to the site.
