Just watched the movie today. Without spoilers, I want to summarize a few thoughts before writing a comprehensive review later. They struggled a lot with explaining the backstory and background to those who are new to the series, and the presentation of both factions and all characters falls very flat to the point that the Assassins are misrepresented. Action scenes, choreography, and martial arts were superb and possibly its best point.

The worst point for us as wiki editors is that there are numerous contradictions to established lore throughout the film in spite of the movie being called canon. Most of these contradictions aren't explicit and more heavily implied, but there's a couple that are just outright major, blatant inconsistencies. I think it's safe to say that the producers might not have done their full research. I would say that it might take a hardcore fan to spot these contradictions, but my little brother who is a very casual player, bursting through every game then never looking back at them ever again, were able to name pretty much all of them.

I'm not really upset about the film. I thought it was ultimately okay. The fun that I had with my brother ranting about these inconsistencies really compensated for it, so the movie provided a lot of amusement in its own way. :) But they might've just complicated our work...
