It seems like a certain portion of the fans just aren't going to be satisfied, doesn't it? At first, everyone was complaining about no Hidden Blade in the game and we actually had to wait for a trailer showing Connor's weapons for people to stop ranting. But that's not the topic of this blog post; I'm here about the British.

Nope, this isn't going to be hate speech about the British Empire; and just to be clear, I'm not British, nor am I American. I'm just here to tell you why you shouldn't be offended that most, possibly all, of the current footage shows Connor killing Redcoats. You see, the developers have nothing against the British, nor are they pro-American, being based in France. The only reason they showed off a lot of Redcoat killing is because it was the only assets they had ready to show us. Connor is half-British himself, and he even says "Let the Patriots fight their war; I'm here for the Templar." They've assured us that we wouldn't be fighting as either a Loyalist or a Patriot, but as an Assassin, waging his war against the Templars.

For those of you who still aren't convinced, look back at the previous games. You were attacked by every guard faction, "good" or bad, whether you were on good terms with their leaders or not. Our trip through history has included the deaths of several Saracens, Crusaders, French, Italian, Spanish, Ottoman, Byzantine and even German soldiers. If I remember correctly, a good deal of Templars in the first Assassin's Creed game were British too, and no one complained back then. Assassin's Creed 1 was also about a war, and there were Templars on both sides. Early footage just showed a few assassinations of Crusader targets. Starting to see the connection?

If I haven't convinced you yet, "I'm going to have to work harder to open your eyes, aren't I?" Assassin's Creed is created by a multicultural team of various religious beliefs and faiths. And they have nothing against the british either. You don't need Eagle Vision to see that.
