I guess you're right. The only major case of them ever contradicting lore was the film, and as we now know, they were aware of the conflict. Aymar respected our requests to reconstitute Discovery in the canon, so we should have more faith in them. :)

In the Gameinformer magazine, Amunet's statue in the Assassin Sanctuary in Assassin's Creed II is specifically mentioned. It's stated that creative director Jean Guesdon says that they won't contradict anything that's been established in previous lore.

I do, however, worry about whether or not they'll account for some of the less well-known tidbits, like the Rosetta Stone in Unity or Iltani's final scroll in Chronicles: India. Both of which seem to indicate already existing Brotherhoods in Babylonia and Egypt.

I'm perfectly fine with Bayek being the one who comes up with the tenets and the creed, I'm just hoping they're not going to credit him with having invented everything about the Assassin Brotherhood, because we already know he couldn't have (i.e. the Assassin insignia and the Hidden Blade).

They also stated that, although this is very much Bayek's story, he's not the only playable character, although no further details were provided. I suppose they could have been talking about the modern day protagonist.
