Given the fact that we now have a city of the same name in Greece, I think there is a need to differentiate those that is from Thebes, Egypt or Thebes, Greece. I guess the difference is the fact that the city in Egypt is not a city-state by its own unlike the one in Greece. But I don't think we can exactly use the category "Thebans (Egypt)" and "Thebans (Greece)" since it looks kinda sloppy. I have discussed this with Sol Pacificus on Discord before, and we did come with suggestions such as "People from Thebes, Egypt" and "People from Thebes, Greece". It looks kinda inconsistent given with what we currently have right now, but we wanna know where you guys think about it. XOdeyssusx (talk) 09:33, October 30, 2018 (UTC)
I think the same thing must be do for Philadelphians( Egypt and USA) and we could make a différentiation between Romans, citizens from the Roman Republics, and the Romans, resident of Rome like at the time of Renaissance.Francesco75 (talk) 11:04, October 30, 2018 (UTC)
- I agree with Francesco: 'Thebans' is just one 'problem'. In regards to them, I'd be tempted to call the Greek Thebans 'Thebans', and differentiate the Egyptians somehow, given that 'Thebes' is a Greek term for the ancient Egyptian site (Thebes of a Thousand Gates vs. the Boeotian Thebes of Seven Gates), but that's just me. Greek Thebans and Egyptian Thebans? Sadelyrate (siniath) 11:40, October 30, 2018 (UTC)
