The syntax for using this template is:

{{Fanon|Username|type=|extra=}}

• The "Username" part is where the username of the author of the Fanon piece goes.
• The "type" variable takes in two options:
  • Write down "type=FanCanon" if the fanon does not contradict existing canonical ideas.
  • Write down "type=FanNon-Canon" if the fanon contradicts existing canonical ideas
• The "extra" variable, at present, takes three options:
  • Write down "extra=Story" if the fanon is a story.
  • Write down "extra=Character" if the fanon is about a character.
  • Write down "extra=Animation" if the fanon is an animation piece (eg.videos).
