Welcome

Hi, welcome to Assassin's Creed Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Useful links page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- JoePlay (Talk) 16:49, October 28, 2009

Admin

Wow... I would be honored to. A crash-course on adminship would be handy, but just point me where I need to go and I'll handle it. ;D -- D. Cello 23:02, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks ;D. Just one question, please: On that help page you send me there's a section about deleting pages that says "listed on VfD for 5 days with 18 votes to delete and 1 to keep". What is VfD and how do I call a vote to delete a page? In question, would be this one that seems to be a purely fanboy self promoted page - http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Assassin's_Creed:_The_Beginning_(2009)

Vandalism reply

Ay, ay, sir. Fixed notoriety and checking with editors the veracity of the quotes. Shall have a response soon. -- D. Cello 02:26, November 22, 2009 (UTC)

Main Page

Hey, I was wondering how the "Featured Article" and "Featured Media" works. How to change it, schedule articles for a day or week, writing a different summary instead of just placing the top lines of the article and things like that. Could you help me with that, please? -- D. Cello 17:52, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

Characters and Actors

Great, I've been thinking in a template to game-character's page as well, try to do it soon. Additionally, I think the new quote template don't highlight the quotes too much. Since you done it, you want it to be leaved that way? -- D. Cello 18:42, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

The new quote template has been causing some disturbance in articles like this one: http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Assassin's_Creed_II_Quotes It removes context and info and leaves only the quotes. I really don't like it. =/ -- D. Cello 15:35, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
By any chance, I think we already have the template for character page, right? or am I missing something? - SilverSummonerTaLk 16:45, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
We have, but it isn't standard. Some characters have actors links, some have weight, some have equipment, some have only name, appearance and location. -- D. Cello 17:05, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
If you mean Template:Character Infobox, this template is mainly created for the first game. As the characters in the second game is slightly different from the first game, are you planning to create another new template for the characters in AC 2? - SilverSummonerTaLk 17:12, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
No, just set one to be used by all characters articles. There's essential info avaiable to characters from both games, we just have to select the ones relevant and modify the template. -- D. Cello 17:18, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
I see... shall I leave the character template to you, then?
I have another concern though... the categorizing system. Honestly, it's quite confusing. I did implement a categorizing system here (although still not perfect) but I guess I have to start over again~ - SilverSummonerTaLk 17:27, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, tell me about it ¬¬ We've had more categories created by second than Uncle Scrooge has of money. I cleaned all the duplicated and useless categories and organized the critical assassins part. What are your ideas about the categorizing system? (best answer on my page =P)
And give a shot at the character template if you want to. ;D -- D. Cello 17:49, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

FA and GA

Hey, Nik. I need help editing two templates, the Featured article indicator and the Good article indicator. Specifically, I'ld need to put it in the same line than the name's page (like [ArticleName]_________________________[icon] ). You know how to do it? -- D. Cello 23:46, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Re: Check

Hey, thanks. ;D I first have to find a reliable source of AC news and then start posting them... Things are going smooth, the wiki is progressing and people are starting to integrate more and more. There's one think I would like to ask: at Wookiepedia, they have a featured article system where the pages are scheduled to each week days earlier. It would be handy to know if it's automatic or manual written, and how it works, so we can try to do somethign similar here. You know, if it's possible. -- D. Cello 03:41, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

Walkthrough

I can't really help with wrting the guide, but I've just categorized it in missions on a private page similar to IGN's guide, take a look: User:D. Cello/sandbox/ac2walktest -- D. Cello 01:14, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Eee, I suppose I should've written my response about your walkthrough thoughts here. Anyway, my plan was to sit down with my laptop and a new replay and tackle it. I'd really enjoy working on it, but I have to study for my finals, which are next week. So I'm for sure good on actually doing it as opposed to just saying I'm thinking about it, it's just that the earliest I could start on it would be next week. (: --Aftyn 07:37, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Wow, that's great! That was super fast, haha. I did the first mission of the first sequence just to sorta show my initial thoughts in the direction I was going to go. Lemme know if what I was thinking is way too detailed or spoiler ridden (at least, with future missions and their cutscenes, has the potential to be spoiler ridden) for the type of walkthrough you had in mind, or if you'd like me to add said details. Sandbox page for it is here: http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/User:Aftyn/sandbox It'd be explained in the beginning of the page, but within the >>Mission Title<< area, italic text is cutscene goings-on while the regular text is the more 'walkthrough' aspect of it. Links to pages about people/places/etc. where appropriate, of course, but I didn't include them since the sandbox is, well, just the sandbox, haha. (: --Aftyn 10:15, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Well, some walkthroughs are created intentionally spoiler-free, so I was just checking. Perhaps, if we're super ambitious, we could create one with spoilers, and then modify that one to make it spoiler-free for a second option for anyone who comes to the wiki searching for a walkthrough. Though we should have at least one finished before we even think about creating a second one, haha. But yeah, I'll get onto embellishing the walkthrough as soon as I get time. (: --Aftyn 01:11, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

I'd just like to apologize for being slow about improving II's walkthrough. Family stuff came up and I didn't get the time I had planned on to sit down and move through the game again. Anyway, I've started working on it. I think I'll end up editing the page after I finish an entire sequence, rather than one mission at a time, that way I can incorporate the text that's already in the article. With that, the work that's already been done on the walkthrough won't be all for nothing. --Aftyn 07:40, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
