Articles

well thanks~ =D you did a great job too by re-writing those articles. Heh.. most of the articles here are written quite subjectively. xD (no offense to the writers btw) - SilverSummonerTaLk 05:38, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Template

That's good idea! =D and I see that you've implemented that on the template too ^^. I'm still working on the navigation bar.. I'll show you when I'm done! - SilverSummonerTaLk 05:36, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi there! take a look at the navbar on my page! ^^ - SilverSummonerTaLk 02:41, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Templar quote

Hi, welcome to ACWiki. I noticed you've put some quotes on articles- this is good But since this wiki is an English wiki (except for the Polish section) and Al Mualim speaks English in the English version, wouldn't it make more sense to have the quote in English? To 95% of readers, Latin and Arabic are nonsense.

Also, one of your quotes was "Non nobis Domine, non nobis...". Does he really say that? If so, when? It's been a while since I last fully played through the game.

Well actually, "Non nobis Domine, non nobis, sed Nomini Tuo da Gloriam" is the entire phrase which is the motto of the Templars. It means: "Not to us God, not to us, but to Your Name give Glory". Al Mualim only says the first part "Non nobis Domine, non nobis..." to answer Altaïr's question: what is the link between his targets. I think it's after killing Abul Nuqud or William of Montferrat. For the language, it's latin and Al Mualim has quoted the phrase in the original language.--PhantomT1412 20:34, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

All right, thanks for clearing that up. But taken out of context, it doesn't mean much to the reader, right? Even if it is translated, without context it means nothing. It's probably noteworthy in the article (with context), but not worth having at the very beginning.
I recognize that all Wikia wikis go against a lot of Wikipedia guidelines- we have spoiler warnings, we have quotes in the articles, and nobody appears to care at all about copyright but I feel that this particular quote is not a good one to have at the head of an article.
I am currently trying to figure out these articles about Templars. See, we have these articles:
  1. Knights Templar which serves as the main article about the templars, with info on the organization, AND killing them, AND finding them
  2. Anonymous Templar Knights which doesn't do much. It's about the individual knights that Altaïr kills.
  3. Templar Locations which is a list (in progress) of Templars in Assassin's Creed
  4. Templars which is just a redirect to Knights Templar
This is really sort of odd. So I'm trying to think, what would be the best way to sort this all out? What do YOU think? − Elecbullet 23:46, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Well that's the way it goes here in wikia~ you don't need citation, or copyright (unless you get the source for articles/files from other website or it's an official file from Ubisoft) because you can find it all in the game itself.
About the templars, I think it's best to just dump all the info bout templar in Knights Templar, and the rest can be a redirect to that article. what bout it? - SilverSummonerTaLk 00:37, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

There are some problems with that. First of all, I think we should differentiate between the order itself, and the knights the player kills. This is because they're very different subjects- one is relevant to the storyline, and one is about an Additional Memory. But how would we do that? A page "Knights Templar" and a page "Templar Knights"? But we surely could do better than "Anonymous Templar Knights".
If we DID make separate articles for them all, we could put a message atop each article, like this:
This article is about the order. For the killable knights, see (...).
Second of all, we would have to have Templar Locations on a different page than all the others. I'm sure you see the reasoning behind this.
Thirdly, would a person like, say, Warren Vidic be referred to as a Templar Knight? I'd hardly call him a knight. Is it just a title? I'm not sure about this.
By the way, when I referred to copyright I was referring to how the pictures on this wiki tend to not have any copyright information, and how a lot of licensing templates (wrote that "Templars" at first ) were white text on white background, like this.
Well that's easy. I'd say we dump it all in the Knight Templars, and make different section for the one that relevant to the storyline, and the 2nd section for additional memory. maybe something like "Story" which refers to the storyline and "Knight Templar Sidequest" that refers to the additional memory. well they're talking bout the same thing, no? so I think it's best to put them in one page, rather than putting it into different page which will cause confusion, especially for those new editors and readers.
Second, yeah I know what you mean. ^^ that should fall under the gameplay categorizing or such.
Third, well I won't say that he's a knight, but maybe some kinda associate of the templar knights.
Ah okae I see your point~ ^^ - SilverSummonerTaLk 03:58, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Category

Hi there.. as you might already know, I'm trying to make the categories neat here, so I wanna ask your opinion bout these pages:

In which category do you think those pages will fit? I'm thinking bout putting them under Category:Characters, but I'm not really sure either.. Category:Gameplay perhaps? or do you have any other suggestion? - SilverSummonerTaLk 08:00, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps a Category:Factions for the first three. We might put Abstergo in there too. As for the other three... I think it's better placed in Category:Gameplay
I was thinking about making a faction infobox. Ehh. It's late. Maybe tomorrow.- Elecbullet 08:03, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
