Aaminah was a pirate who served under Alonzo Batilla during the Golden Age of Piracy. She was rescued from a slaver vessel by Alonzo under the suggestion of Olivier Levasseur, at which point she joined his crew to make other slavers pay.

Around the time Aaminah was captured for slavery, she wrote letters to her mother, even knowing that her mother could not read.

Rumors spread about Aaminah by liberated slaves who told of a pirate captain who took orders from an "African goddess" and attacked slavers.
