Chasqui were couriers for the Inca Empire. They were tasked with delivering messages throughout the empire. Chasqui were able freeruners and ran up to 240 kilometres a day. As part of their chasqui training they were thought how to read Quipu; knotted rope that held messages for them to interpret and deliver/

The chasqui had a network of roads and rope bridges for their use, interconnected throughout the empire, with stopping points, called tambos where chasqui would pass their messages to other runners.
