Ezio, my friend! How may I be of service?

This article is in desperate need of a revamp. Please improve it in any way necessary in order for it to achieve a higher standard of quality in accordance with our Manual of Style.

The Animus 2.0's memory corridor.

The Memory Corridor appeared to be an empty virtual space located within Animi, which had several uses.

Usage

Altaïr killing William of Montferrat in the memory corridor.

The corridor was mainly used as a loading screen between memories, where the user had the possibility to run around as the memory started up.[1][2]

Additionally, in it, a dying assassination target shared their last words with the Assassin who had killed them; most likely to place an emphasis on their final moments.[1][2]

It was also used as a location for a tutorial for Desmond Miles' first use of the Animus,[1] and later, as an interface for Rebecca Crane's Animus Virtual Training Program.[3]

Appearance

The corridor had different backgrounds according to the version of Animus being used. The Abstergo Industries Animus 1.28 had an icy-blue background with fog and various computer code,[1] while the Animus 2.0 and 2.03's background was light gray with white lines. The safe mode program built into the Animus, known as the Black Room, had a varying dark and bright blue background with black lines, the opposite of the appearance of Animus 2.0 and 2.03 in normal condition.[2]

Trivia

Confrontation with Maria inside the corridor.
  • The location on the Animus 2.0 is sometimes referred to as the White Room.
  • No matter what position or method the assassination target is killed in, or how far away the Assassin is from the target, upon entering the corridor, the Assassin will always be right next to the target, who is always lying down on their back.
  • The corridor is also used in a "final" conversation with four people, despite the fact that they are left alive afterwards. These include Maria Thorpe, Rodrigo Borgia, Micheletto Corella, and Shahkulu .
  • In Assassin's Creed, during a sufficiently long loading period, it is possible for Altaïr to run far enough that glitches and other symbols surrounding him are left behind.
  • In Assassin's Creed, glitches appear frequently in the corridor, prompting Altaïr/Desmond to change the angle of the scene, and allow the target to walk around as they speak, appearing uninjured.
  • In Assassin's Creed II, Dante Moro and Silvio Barbarigo appear in the memory corridor together, even if they are killed separately.
  • In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, when the Templar agents are killed and enter the Memory Corridor, they do not speak. Ezio Auditore simply says "Requiescat in pace," before closing their eyes and walking away.
Cesare Borgia being thrown off a wall in the memory corridor.
  • Another variation of the corridor is present in the Cristina Memories in Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, where a ghost-like Ezio chases another ghost-like figure – Cristina Vespucci – through a dark, red-hued corridor with floating binary codes. The Cristina memories are labeled as repressed memories, which may be why the corridor takes on a different appearance.
  • The third variation of the corridor in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is orange - which occurs after the death of Cesare Borgia, when Ezio throws him off the castle wall.
  • In Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Altaïr and Ezio can use their sword, short blade, throwing knives and hidden blade in the memory corridor. However, in Assassin's Creed II, Ezio can use only his fists.
  • All weapons used during the memory corridor sequence do not emit sound.
  • There is a glitch in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood whereas Ezio may switch between a single hidden blade or both in the memory corridor even if he has already purchased it from Leonardo.
  • In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood it is possible to run out of ammunition if Ezio uses the Hidden Gun, Throwing Knives or the Crossbow, although the crossbow would take some time to reload, the Memory Corridor would have finished by the time he had used all of the crossbow bolts.
  • In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, it is possible for Ezio to throw a heavy weapon. However, if there is enough time to run in the direction he threw it is will appear on the ground some distance from where he threw the blade. When the game starts, the thrown weapon will be back on Ezio's sheath.
  • In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, the Animus 2.0's Memory Corridor is revealed to be the polar opposite of the White Room, the Black Room.
