Knowing Edward prior to game...

Is it just me, or does Edward and Rhona's dialogue when they first meet in the Templar Hunt mission suggest that they've met prior to those events? I could be wrong, and their first meeting could've been when she appears in the main story, but I don't think so considering that the Templar Hunt missions become available much earlier than when she appears in the story, and Edward's still brash and kind of a prick like he was before joining the Assassins. There's nothing anywhere in the game that suggests that they knew each other prior, but still the way they address each other... I don't have an exact transcript, but it  really does sound like it.
