Yoshimitsu Estate

Yoshimitsu Estate was an estate in Sakamoto in Ōmi, Japan which served as the residence of Gamo Yoshimitsu, a samurai in the service of Akechi Kagemitsu.

In 1582, the samurai Yasuke visited the estate with Shōtei to challenge Yoshimitsu to a duel, as part of their plan to weaken Kagemitsu's strength in Sakamoto Castle. Yoshimitsu accepted the challenge and the two gathered in the courtyard. After each of their declarations to defeat one another, Yoshimitsu ultimately lost to Yasuke and was killed as a result.[1]
