Xingyang
Xingyang (滎陽) is a city in Henan, China situated between Luoyang to the west and Chenliu to the east on the southern banks of the Yellow River.[1]
On 14 January 756,[2][3] as part of his rebellion against the Tang, An Lushan and his army captured Xingyang.[1] This occurred a mere three days after he had taken Chenliu and six days after he had crossed the Yellow River.[1][2] At this stage, his march was inexorable, making a beeline for Luoyang and eventually to the imperial capital Chang'an by following the course of the river. Luoyang, the secondary capital, would fall shortly after on 18 January 756.[1][2][3]
