Xi'an, formerly romanized as Sian, is the capital of Shaanxi Province in China.

As the starting point of the Silk Road, Xi'an has exposed its culture to several outside influences, primarily Muslim. As such, it is known for its cuisine, including rou jia mo, a beef sandwich. Xi'an is also the location of the Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone, which is almost entirely owned by the Templar-run corporation Abstergo Industries. They are able to acquire thousands of graduates from Abstergo-funded universities in the region. By late 2015, the Assassin Kiyoshi Takakura planned to visit Xi'an in order to search for Álvaro Gramática's laboratory.[1]
