The Wellington Barracks is a military barracks in Westminster, London near the Buckingham Palace.

History

Designed and built by architects Sir Francis Smith and Philip Hardwick, the barracks was opened in 1833 and has since served as the home of the Grenadier Guards, the most senior regiment of the British infantry. The length of the barracks also runs between runs between Queen Anne's Gate and Buckingham Gate.[1]

In addition to the Grenadier Guards, the Wellington Barracks was also home to the Royal Military Chapel, which was destroyed in 1944. The chapel was then rebuilt in the 1960s and has since served as the only remaining military chapel in all of London.[1]
