Wales is a country that is part of the United Kingdom and the island of Great Britain, bordered by England to its east, the Irish Sea to its north and west, and the Bristol Channel to its south.

History

John Dee, consultant to Queen Elizabeth I, was of Welsh descent.

In 1635, Sir Henry Morgan, a Welsh privateer, pirate and admiral of the English Royal Navy, was born in Wales.

Parry Crowther, a pirate, was born in Wales.

In 1682, Bartholomew Roberts, a Welsh pirate and Sage, was born in Wales in the town of Castell Newydd Bach (Little Newcastle).

In 1690, Howell Davis, Welsh pirate and mentor of Bartholomew Roberts, was born in Pembrokeshire, in the city of Milford Haven.

In 1693, Edward Kenway, privateer-turned-pirate and member of the Assassin Order, was born in Swansea to Bernard and Linette Kenway. His mother hailed from Cardiff.[1]

In 1792, Mary Anne Disraeli, 1st Viscountess Beaconsfield, was born in Wales.

The maternal grandmother of Jacob and Evie Frye was Welsh.[2]
