Vienna

Vienna is a city in Austria, Europe. During the Renaissance, the city received visits from members of the Roman Assassins Guild.
Renaissance
The Apprentices sent to Vienna by Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Rome planned to turn Maximilian I against any allies he could have in Rome. They knew Maximilian had taken a beating from Swiss mercenaries during his last war, and discovered they were not working for the Borgia. They found them in a tavern, where they joined them and managed to poison them after they got them drunk. They carried their victims to Maximilian, who was angered but had expected it. He paid the Assassins well, and cut funding to the Borgia while he investigated the incident.[1]
The Swiss mercenaries were later employed as trainers by Maximilian, who also asked the Assassins to train his men. The Assassins accepted the offer, though they dressed up as condottieri to prevent anyone from discovering their real affiliation. Together with one of Maximilian's best knights, they trained the Landsknechte. Maximilian promised them they could call upon his best men if they ever needed them.[1]
