Varin's Axe

Varin's Axe was a bearded axe which belonged to Varin, the father of the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir. Kjotve the Cruel kept it as a trophy after executing Varin with it during a raid on the Raven Clan in Rygjafylke, though it was later recovered by Eivor after she defeated one of Kjotve's clansmen, Rikiwulf, before he could kill her crewmate Bragi in a blood-sacrifice.

Eivor held onto it when she joined members of the Raven Clan in leaving Norway for better prospects in England. There, she found sufficient funds and resources to upgrade the axe to different tiers, increasing its attack and lethality against opponents while also displaying finer craftsmanship.
