Varin (died 860s) was the husband of Rosta and father of Eivor.
History
At the age of nineteen, Varin and his lover Rosta stacked cairns on a high cliff near the fjord of their village.[1] The two were later married and Rosta bore Varin a child, Eivor. Their happiness did not last as nine years later, Kjotve the Cruel raided their village and killed Varin as he begged for mercy.[2] Eivor survived the attack, being rescued by King Styrbjorn and later inherited their father's axe.[3]
