Uffentune

Uffington, historically known as Uffentune, is a town in Oxfordshire, England. Originating as a Iron Age hillfort and later a fortified settlement, the town was historically part of Hampshire during the Anglo-Saxon period, and later Berkshire before being transferred to Oxfordshire.

In the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir visited Uffentune, recovering several valuables and a tungsten ingot in one of the warehouses.[1]
