The Travellers Club is a gentlemen's club in Pall Mall, London. Members of this club included Colonel Walter Lavelle and Cavanagh, who Lavelle had nominated shortly before being killed by him.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

In 1862, Cavanagh and Marchant had a meeting with Leonard Hazlewood in the club's smoking room overlooking Carlton Gardens. Hazlewood, then in the employ of a viscount that had been attacked in the Maylebone churchyard, believed that Cavanagh's employee Bharat Singh was the attacker, to which Cavanagh said they would conduct their own investigations and would get back to Hazlewood.[1]
