The sacred site of the Tomb of the First Pythia

The Tomb of the First Pythia was a tomb located northwest of the Sanctuary of Delphi in Phokis, Greece.

History[edit | edit source]

The tomb served as the resting place of the first Pythia in Greek tradition. Outside of the tomb stood a statue, and it was commonly used as a sacred site.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the tomb was explored by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who found and deciphered an ancient stele within the depths of the tomb.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The statue standing outside the tomb is one of the unique statues in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and seems to be based on a 6th century BCE statue known as Antenor Kore.
