Ezio leaping over the River Tiber.

The Tiber River is a river that runs through the city of Rome, and seperates the Vaticano District from the rest of Rome in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The Castel Sant'Angelo can be found near the river, and Tiber Island is located within the river itself.

The iconic scene of the Assassin Ceremony, ends with the Assassin performing a Leap of Faith into the river whilst being watched by Ezio and Machiavelli.

Tiber River Bridges

There are 6 bridges built over the river, allowing civilians to cross the river from various points in the city, amongst these are Pont Sant Angelo and Pont Sisto. Only two of these bridges cross the river to Tiber Island. The Templar Cross can been seen on either side of both bridges on to Tiber Island. Interestingly, no other bridge in Rome has these symbols and yet Tiber Island houses the Assassins_GuildAssassin's Hideout.

Trivia

  • Ezio Auditore considers dropping the Apple into the Tiber River at the beginning of Brotherhood.
  • There are hidden entrances into the Tiber Island Assassins Guild submerged in the Tiber River.
  • Though you can not see the new Assassin dive into the water, there is nowhere else for them to land after performing the leap of faith.
