Armor of Brutus

The Armor of Brutus is a set of armor available in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The armor was the greatest possession of a mysterious cult, the Followers of Romulus. The armor is unlocked by obtaining all Romulus scrolls from the six secret lairs throughout the city of Rome.

It is the strongest armor in game and is obtained after collecting all six keys of Romulus. It is found along with the Dagger of Brutus. Like the Armor of Altaïr, the Armor of Brutus has 25 health diamonds.

Appearance

The armor looks much bulkier than Ezio's Master Assassin robes due to the fur pauldron that is padded along the shoulders. The fur obviously indicates the Sons of Romulus cult, and is most likely wolf fur. There is a silver eagle on the right shoulder that holds the cape up. There is also a silver eagle on the waist area where the Assassin symbol would normally be, which has been relocated to being painted right above. The armor comes with a grey shortsleeved robe most likely made of wolf fur that is worn underneath the breastplate. The bottom of the robes are in three layers, each one on top of the other, and come down to Ezio's knees. However, the bottoms act almost like a kilt, completley covering the legs, where as the Master Assassin robes part on the sides to keep movement unencumbered. This does not affect mobility in the game however. The armor set consists of metal and leather. The chest armor and spaulders are mostly metal, while the vambraces and greaves are completely leather. The vambraces and greaves are also very plain looking pieces of armor, having very little design compared to the rest of the armor. Unlike the vambraces bought in the game, the Vambraces of Brutus cover both of Ezio's forearms instead of only his right. The hood and cape seem to be connected. They are colored red with a golden trim on the cape..

Trivia

  • Judging by the eagle-shaped appearance of the hood, it can be assumed that Markus Junius Brutus, the original owner of the armor, was an Assassin.
  • The Armor of Brutus gives the same amount of health to Ezio as the Seusenhofer armor set. The only difference between these two armors is that the Armor of Brutus is unbreakable and the Seusenhofer armor allows Ezio to wear his regular, customizable robes.
  • It is not confirmed if Ezio actually obtained this armor at any time throughout his life. It is arguable that he actually never aquired the Armor of Brutus, because Ezio is seen fighting Cesare Borgia in Spain in the year 1507 without the armor at the beginning of Brotherhood. Desmond also sees a "ghost" of an older Ezio wearing his regular Assassin robes while visiting the Sanctuary sometime after the villa attack. It is still possible that he may have lost the armor sometime after he possibly gained it, but it is still unconfirmed. Aquiring the armor may actually have been an opportunity for Ezio, but he may have never actually found it in his real life.
