Tessa Varzi
Tessa Varzi (? - 1503) was a member of the Assassin Order during the Italian Renaissance. She was a part of a team which also included Francesco Vecellio and Cipriano Enu, with which she went along various missions throughout Italy.[1]
Tessa was notably responsible for the death of Doge Agostino Barbarigo, after he betrayed the Assassins by serving the Borgia. She had sent him various poisoned, threatful letters, after which he fell ill and died.[1] Another mission had Francesco wanting to free a group of prisoners that Cesare Borgia planned to shoot at with his crossbow for his own amusment. The Assassins planned to replace the prisoners with the guards who were serving Cesare so their life will be lost instead. But since the guards needed to be alive for the plan to succeed, Tessa had to make a poisonous powder to be used to knock the guards unconcious. Her poison inevitably worked and Cesare murdered the guards dressed up as prisoners instead of the actual prisoners the Assassins rescued.
She ultimately died during an ambush from the French templar de la Motte
