Temple of Zeus in Kephallonia

The Temple of Zeus was a temple complex in worship of the Greek god, Zeus, situated on the island of Kephallonia.

In around 431 BCE, the temple complex was visited by the Sparta misthios, Kassandra, where a priestess sought her aid to recover a Spear of Kephalos belonging to Kephalos, a figure in Greek mythology. The priestess provided Kassandra some clues, which she deduced to be the Melissani Cave nearby. Kassandra later retrieved the spear, giving it to the priestess.[1]
