Templar Coins are translucent, collectible items that the Assassin Altaïr ibn La-Ahad collected during his journey to Cyprus. Templar coins are used to buy upgrades for the Animus, and come in bronze, silver, and gold forms.

The coins are not the size of a regular coin, as they are approximately half the size of Altaïr. Though, this is likely just a feature made to make them easier to find.

Templar Coins can be traded in for Florins in Assassin's Creed II, on the PS3 version, when connected to the game.
