Surtr was a fire jötunn in mythology, guardian of the realm of Múspellsheimr.

Legacy and influence

In the late 9th century, the warrior Hildiran sold a weapon called Surtr's Mercy to Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan.[1]

In 2020, Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relieved Eivor's memories, modified her Animus and included a sword based on Surtr in the shieldmaiden's arsenal.[1]
