The Sphinx Medallion was an Isu artifact, the key to activate the Sphinx's appearance at the Lair of the Sphinx south of Lake Kopais in Boeotia.

Around 429 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was given one half of the medallion by her father, Pythagoras, at the Gateway to the Lost City. According to Pythagoras, the other half was being tracked by his associate, Gorgias.[1] When Kassandra met Gorgias within the strange ruins of the Sphinx, the man directed him to find his student, Pibos. Kassandra found the second half of the medallion ultimately in the corpse of the lion which had slain Pibos.[2]
