The Treasure Fleet of 1715 was a convoy of Spainish warships that had departed from Havana, Cuba - in the Caribbean - and was destined for Spain.

Seven days after their departure, the Fleet hit a storm which destroyed 11 of its 12 vessels; the one vessel to survive - the soon-to-be-christened Jackdaw - narrowly escaped thanks to the actions of the pirates named Edward Kenway and Adéwalé, who had only just escaped from imprisonment on another ship in the fleet.
