Portait of a Young Venetian Woman, the painting on which Sorto is based.

Sofia Sorto was a Venetian bookseller, living in Constantinople during the 16th century. During her time in Constantinople, she befriended Ezio Auditore da Firenze; Grand Master of the Assassin Order.

Personality

It is revealed in the Game Informer article that she has a thirst for knowledge and desires to spread that knowledge to the poor people of the Byzantine empire. According to the article, Ezio instantly feels a connection to the woman, yet cannot bring himself to tell her the truth about who he really is, which may pose an obstacle in the development of their relationship.

• She is based on Albrecht Dürer's painting Portrait of a Young Venetian Woman.
