Skíðblaðnir sailing through Svartálfaheimr

Skíðblaðnir was a mythical longship that could fold down to pocket-size.

Mythology

Seeking to curry favor with those at Asgard, Loki commissioned the dwarven blacksmiths to make a ship big enough to carry all of Asgard's finest into battle. He then gave the completed Skíðblaðnir to Freyr, who was quite pleased with it and forgave Loki's transgressions.

Legacy

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time at Svartálfaheimr, the All-Father made ample use of the ship to traverse the realm and raid Muspel encampments alongside the einherjar.
