This article is in desperate need of a revamp. Please improve it in any way necessary in order for it to achieve a higher standard of quality in accordance with our Manual of Style.

The skill tree is a User Interface (UI) that allows the player to upgrade the abilities of the Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye. A total of 53 skills can be unlocked and are divided into 3 trees: Combat, Stealth and Ecosystem. Each time the player gains 1000 xp or buys skill points through micro-transactions, they unlock a skill point. In turn, the points unlock a skill, giving the Assassins a new ability. In addition, there are three exclusive skills for each Assassin.

Multi-Finisher Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 When multiple enemies are Near Death, press “Square / X” to execute up to 4 enemies at a time to gain extra XP.
Stun Attack Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press “X / A” to break an enemy’s defensive stance or to briefly stun them.
Counter Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press “Circle / B” to Counter enemies’ attacks in combat.
Tool Combo Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press “Tri-Angle/ Y” to use your Tools in combat without breaking your combo.
Health Boost I Required Skill Points: 1 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 Increase your Health by 1 segment.
Health Boost II Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 2 and Health Boost Increase your Health by 1 additional segment.
Health Boost III Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3 and Health Boost II Increase your Health by 1 additional segment.
Unstoppable I Required Skill Points: 1 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 Increase the time before you lose your combo streak due to inaction.
Unstoppable II Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 2 and Unstoppable I The first hit you take during a combo doesn’t end your combo.
Slayer I Required Skill Points: 1 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 When your combo reaches x10, your next attack automatically puts the target in a near death state.
Slayer II Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3 and Slayer I When you bring an enemy to near death, your next attack against a different opponent automatically puts them in a Near Death state.
Counter Boost Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 2 Counter attacks have a larger window of opportunity and do increased damage.
Execute I Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3. Stun an enemy with “X/ A”, then perform a Tool Combo with “Tre-Angle/ Y” to execute them.
Execute II Required Skill Points: 4 Requirement: Level 5 and Execute I Enemies who see you perform an execution are frightened, causing them to break their defensive stance.
Mutilate I Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3 Successful attacks bring enemies to Near Death more rapidly.
Mutilate II Required Skill Points: 4 Requirement:

Jacob's successful attacks bring enemies to Near Death much more rapidly.
Adrenaline Required Skill Points: 4 Requirement: Level 5 Increase your Health regenerates.
Combat Stamina Required Skill Points: 6 Requirement: Level 6 Performing Multi-Kills now regenerates health based on the number of enemies killed.

Stealth

Whistle Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press "Arrow Down" to attract your target's attention and lure them to your position for a stealth assassination.
Knockout Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Hold “Circle / B” to knock an unsuspecting or kidnapped enemy unconscious.
Stealth Navigation Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press "X / A" to enter / exit Sneak Mode. In Sneak Mode your movement is faster, you are harder to detect, and you can also stealthily move, Aim (L2 / LT), and Throw / Shoot (R2 / RT) over low cover and around corners.
Air Assassination Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press "Square / X" to perform a high-profile assassination from above the target.
Lockpicking I Required Skill Points: 1 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 Open locked chests to find money, resources, and rewards.
Lockpicking II Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 2 and Lockpicking I Open most doors in London - except door requiring a master key.
Kidnap Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Mission Reward (1st Bounty Hunt) Press "Circle / B" to kidnap an unsuspecting enemy and force them to walk with you. This can allow you to access restricted areas in plain sight.
Loot Takedown Required Skill Points: 1 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 Automatically loot enemies when you assassinate them, knock them out, kidnap them, or perform Multi-Kills.
Double Assassination Required Skill Points: 1 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 Press "Square / X" to stealthily kill 2 nearby unaware targets at the same time.
Intimidation Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 2 and Kidnap Kidnapped enemies will no longer try to escape.
Stealth I Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 2 Steath stat increases by 7. You are less likely to be detected and your assassinations will make less noise.
Stealth II Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3 and Stealth I Steath stat increases by an additional 7. You are less likely to be detected and your assassinations will make less noise.
Stealth III (Evie only) Required Skill Points: 4 Requirement: Level 5 and Stealth II Evie's Steath stat increases by an additional 11. She is less likely to be detected and her assassinations make very little noise.
First Strike I Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 2 Attack an enemy just before they enter combat to inflict significantly damage.
First Strike II Required Skill Points: 6 Requirement: Level 6 and First Strike I Your First Strike attacks inflict even more damage. Possibly killing the enemy outright.
Assassin Steps Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement:

Level 3

You suffer significantly reduced damage from falls and make no noise when you land. Your movement also makes significantly less noise.
Knife Master I Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3 Throwing knives stun enemies for a short time. You automatically recover throwing knives when performing Multi-Kills.
Knife Master II (Evie only) Required Skill Points: 4 Requirement: Level 5 and Knife Master I Evie can carry twice as many throwing knives. Her knives can also inflict significantly more damage.
Chamaleon (Evie only) Required Skill Points: 6 Requirement: Level 6 and Assassin Steps In Sneak Mode "X / A", Evie is invisible while stationary. Her skills as a Master Assassin allow her to blend into her sorroundings and seemingly disappear. Only enemies in close proximity will be able to detect her.

Countershot Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press "Tri-Angle / Y" to shoot and enemy that's about to shoot you preempting their attack.
Eagle Vision I Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press "L3" to activate Eagle Vision. In Eagle Vision, enemies are highlighted in the world and on the mini-map. Look at enemies briefly to Tag them; this displays their level and allows them to be seen through walls.
Eagle Vision II Required Skill Points: 1 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 and Eagle Vision I Your Eagle Vision (L3) now allows you see through walls to watch and Tag enemies.
Eagle Vision III Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Eagle Vision II The radius of your Eagle Vision (L3) increases and now shows enemies' facing on the mini-map.
Fast Driven Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Acquired during Sequence 1 Press "X / A" to gain a significant short term speed boost while driving carriages.
Leadership I Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Mission Reward: Spitafields Gang Stronghold Press "R1 / RB" to recruit Rooks to follow you. Hold "R1 / RB" to bring up advanced commands. You may have up to 2 Rooks following you at a time.
Leadership II Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Level 3 and Leadership I Press "R1 / RB" to recruit Rooks to follow you. Hold "R1 / RB" to bring up advanced commands. You may have up to 3 Rooks following you at a time.
Leadership III Required Skill Points: 0 Requirement: Level 5 and Leadership II Press "R1 / RB" to recruit Rooks to follow you. Hold "R1 / RB" to bring up advanced commands. You may have up to 5 Rooks following you at a time.
Gunslinger I Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3 When attempting to shoot an empty gun mid-combo, the gun will reload automatically.
Gunslinger II (Jacob only) Required Skill Points: 6 Requirement: Level 6 and Gunslinger I Jacob's Countershots are automatic headshots.
Scavenger I Required Skill Points: 1 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 You find more common crafting resources from every source
Scavenger II Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 2 and Scavenger I You find more rare crafting resources from every source.
Defense I Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Complete Sequence 1 Reduces all Melee damage suffered.
Defense II Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3 and Defense I Reduces all Ranged damage suffered.
Defense III (Jacob only) Required Skill Points: 4 Requirement: Level 5 and Defense II Jacob takes less damage overall.
Driver I Required Skill Points: 2 Requirement: Level 3 Collisions inflict less damage and don't slow you down as much while driving.
Driver II Required Skill Points: 4 Requirement: Level 5 and Driver I Carriages you drive accelerate significantly faster.
Demolition Derby Required Skill Points: 6 Requirement: Level 6 Carriages you drive inflict more damage and take less damage.
