The Shroud of Penelope was a head armor obtained by the misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War.
The shroud originally belonged to Penelope, the wife of Odysseus, who was said to have woven it and promised to choose a suitor upon its completion.[1] In the 5th century BCE, the shroud ended up in the hands of Elpenor, a cultist of the Eyes of Kosmos. The shroud was later stolen from him by a group of bandits, who hid it in a chest in Odysseus' Palace on the Greek island of Ithaka. After meeting the Kassandra in 431 BCE, he tasked her to help him retrieve the shroud. When she did so, Elpenor instead allowed her to keep it for herself.[2]
