The Seven Against Thebes is a group of the seven leaders of an Argive army which marched to retake the city of Thebes for Polynikes in Greek mythology.

History

Following a dispute over the rulership of the city of Thebes, Eteokles had his brother Polynikes exiled. Polynikes pleaded his case to the King of Argos, and the king granted him an army. To lead this army, six others joined Polynikes.[1]

Many of the men were renowned for their deeds in the war, whether gruesome or grand.[1]
