Seine

The Seine is a 776-kilometre long river in the north of France. It rises at Source-Seine, 30 kilometres (19 mi) northwest of Dijon in northeastern France in the Langres plateau, flowing through Paris and into the English Channel at Le Havre.

In Paris

In the late 18th century the headquater of the French Assassins was located underneath the Île Saint-Louis, one of two remaining natural islands in the Seine within the city of Paris (the other being the Île de la Cité). At this time the following bridges were spanning the river:
