Eivor and the Sea-Chariot approaching a castle

The Sea-Chariot was a longship captained by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir and crewed by members of the Raven Clan during the 9th century. It was one of her main forms of transportation and used during her raids and assaults in her efforts to acquire supplies and alliances for the Raven Clan at Ravensthorpe.[1]

Cosmetics

Throughout her travels, Eivor found and bought various schematics to change the appearance of the longship. Ravensthorpe residents Gudrun and her husband Gudmund ran the shipyard in the settlement and applied the schematics at Eivor's whims.[1]

Centuries later in 2020, Layla Hassan, an Assassin reliving Eivor's memories, was able to change the appearance of the longship as well via code modifications during her sessions in the Animus.[1]

Appearances

Behind the scenes

The Sea-Chariot was not officially named in the base game of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla following its November 2020 launch, nor in its subsequent downloadable expansions. It went unnamed when it briefly appeared in the 2020 tie-in novel Assassin's Creed: Valhalla – Geirmund's Saga and remained anonymous until 2022, when a cosmetic pack [citation needed] was released for sale with Helix Credits at Reda's shop. If players purchased it, Reld dake a comment about the "Sea-Chariot", with the game's subtitles rendering the word as a proper noun instead of as a kenning.
