Scorpion Reef is a reef in the Gulf of Mexico containing a small group of islands, located near the Yucatán Peninsula.

In 1716, the novice pirate captain Alonzo Batilla stole a schooner called the Wanderer with the help of fellow pirate Olivier Levasseur. The former proceeded to plunder a Royal Navy brig, and undertook various races and deliveries in the area.
