The Ruins of Plataia was the name given to the southwestern region of Boeotia in ancient Greece. It was so named for the city Plataia, which had been largely destroyed by the 5th century BCE and had since been converted into a fort.

During the Peloponnesian War the region was explored by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
