The Ruins of Plataia was the name given to the southwestern region of Boeotia in ancient Greece. It was so named for the city Plataia, which had been largely destroyed in the 5th century BCE and has since been coverted into a fort.

During the Peloponnesian War, the region was explored by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
