Roadside Assistance is a memory in Assassin's Creed II.
Description
After escaping from Florence with his mother and sister, Ezio is ambushed by Vieri de' Pazzi and his guards. All hope seemed lost until the sudden appearance of Ezio's uncle, Mario Auditore, with his mercenaries. Mario tosses Ezio a sword and they fend of the guards, prompting Vieri to flee. After the fight, Mario introduces himself to Ezio, and escorts him and his family to Monteriggioni.
Dialogue
- Ezio: We should be close
- Claudia: Grazie dio (Thank God).
Ezio and his family continues to Monteriggioni. They are stopped by Vieri de' Pazzi accompanied by several gaurds.
- Vieri: Buon giorno (Good day), Ezio! How could you leave Firenze without saying a proper goodbye?
- Claudia: Ezio!
- Ezio: What do you want, Vieri?
- Vieri: So many things. A larger palazzo, two new steeds, a prettier bride....oh and yes...your life.
Gaurds attack Ezio and his family.
- Vieri: My condolences for the loss of your father and brothers. What will happen now that there's no one left to help you? I have such wonderful things in store for your mother and sister.
Ezio kills off the guards with his Hidden Blade.
- Vieri: I grow tired of this game. Finish him! And do not spare the women!
More guards advance on Ezio's family. They are killed from behind by an arrow storm.
- Vieri: What sorcery is this?!
- Mario: (laughs) Not sorcery, boy. Skill!
- Vieri: Show yourself!
- Mario: As you wish.
Mario appears and tosses Ezio a common sword.
- Mario: Here. Use this!
- Vieri: Kill them! Kill them all!
Vieri flees while Ezio and Mario deal with the guards.
- Ezio: You have my thanks.
- Mario: Keep the sword, Ezio.
- Ezio: Do I know you from somewhere?
- Mario: Don't you recognize me? It's-a-me, Mario!
- Ezio: Uncle Mario?
- Mario: It's been too long, nipote (nephew)! Far too long! I heard what happened in Firenze. Terrible. Come, let's get you all away from here.
They proceed into Monteriggioni.
Outcome
- Ezio meets Mario and reclaims a sword. He and his family set off into Monteriggioni.
Trivia
- Mario's introduction of himself (It's-a-me, Mario!) is a reference to Super Mario Bros. It was included in the game as an easter egg.
- This memory marks the first time an arrow storm is seen in the Assassin's Creed series. It would be seen again later in the game and even be a usable tool in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
