The resting area was a place within the Sanctuary of Olympia in Elis, Greece, wherein the people participating and observing the Olympic Games could rest.

During the 428 BCE Olympics the Spartan misthios Kassandra was directed there to look into the character of Kallipateira, a woman accused of dishonoring herself and the Games by the Priestess of Demeter.[1]

Within the resting area Kassandra learned that Kallipateira's husband had died a while back, that she met her Pankrationist son Peisirrhodos at the resting area regularly, that she was related to Diagoras of Rhodes, as well as that she had a secret admirer. With enough proof in hand, Kassandra was able to intervene at Kallipateira's punishment at the top of the Kronion.[1]
