The Renart Gate was one of the gates of the city of Orléans, France. On 30 April 1429 of the Siege of Orléans, Jeanne d'Arc, her brothers Pierre d'Arc and Jean d'Arc, her "shadow" Gabriel Laxart and some soldiers came to the gate while Jeanne demanded for her herald back. However, she was met with laughter and insults while the soldiers stated her herald was dead from target practice. Gaining no interest, she and her entourage left and headed to the Bridge of Orléans.[1]
