Rathcroghan was a Gaelic settlement located in County Roscommon, Ireland. During the medieval period, it was part of the Kingdom of Connacht.
History
During the late 9th century, Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir traveled to the settlement to find The Wren, who was Lady Niamh, the poet. Upon arrival, Eivor searched the area, found Niamh within the festival, and assassinated her, putting an end to her Children of Danu influence among the settlement's people.[1]
During her time in the settlement, Eivor found and claimed a tungsten ingot from a chest inside a guarded house. Eivor also found and claimed Celtic Armor from a chest, inside a house on top of a hill.[2]
