Quebec City, also called Québec, is the capital of the province of Quebec, Canada and the second-largest city in the province after Montreal.[1]

History

In 1614, King Louis XIII of France requested the explorer Samuel de Champlain to take a group of Recollects to Canada to further religious life in the newly established French colony.[2] In 1633, the group built what would later become the Cathedral-Basilica of Notre-Dame de Québec, a historical landmark and blood repository.[3]

In 1759, during the Seven Years' War, the city was besieged by the English with Captain James Cook being an active part of the battle.[4] During the American Revolutionary War, Assassin apprentices were sent to Quebec City and Montreal to investigate Templar influence there.[5]

In 2017, as part of her first Assassin mission,[6] Layla Hassan joined Kiyoshi Takakura in Quebec City to infiltrate Notre-Dame de Québec and look for an artifact belonging to the Recollects.[2]
