Apollo 11

The Apollo 11 moon landing of 1969 was a Templar plot to recover an Apple of Eden located on the moon. This was the Fifth Apple that the Assassins and Templars became aware of.

The mission was a success and the astronauts returned with Piece of Eden. Of course, it was never shown to the public. [[Subject 16]] had hacked Abstergo's files during his time and uncovered information about the moon landing which he placed into the 5th cluster puzzle of Assassin's Creed II.

Why the Apple was located on the Moon remains a mystery, but it is most likely that the First Civlization operated up there. 16 states at the beginning of cluster that "there was something up there. Something abandoned long ago." This may mean that it was left there many thousands of years ago by "Those Who Came Before."

If the First Civilization did travel to the Moon, it may suggest the reason that there has been so many 'alien' conspiracy theories about the Moon over the years.
