Ponte Sant'Angelo

Ponte Sant'Angelo, once the Aelian Bridge or Pons Aelius, meaning the Bridge of Hadrian, is a Roman bridge in Rome, central Italy, completed in 134 by Roman Emperor Hadrian, to span the Tiber, from the city center to his newly constructed mausoleum, now the towering Castel Sant'Angelo.
In 1450, the bridge yielded due to the great crowds of the pilgrims, and many drowned in the river. In response, some

houses at the head of the bridge as well as a Roman triumphal arch were pulled down in order to widen the route for pilgrims. During 16th century, the bridge was used to display the bodies of executed citizens to the public as a sign and warning.
Gameplay
The bridge may be accessed during Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, though it should not be attempted close to the beginning of the game, as Ezio will not be equipped with the weapons essential for defeating stronger opponents. The vaticano district is one of the most well-guarded areas in the game, and even the bridge has four sets of two men guarding small sections of pathway. The bridge is a restricted area after the mission in which Ezio must infiltrate the Castel Sant'Angelo
In order to cross the bridge without detection, a wise player will either swim under the bridge or hide in groups of moving Cardinals. Be warned- the Cardinals never go to the other side of the bridge completely, making it impossible to cross without crossing into another small crowd.
